120 mq

The Apartment Of The Fountain  is located right in the heart of the historic centre of Arpino, a medieval hilltop town only 90 minutes from Rome. One of the very oldest areas of Arpino, Civita Falconara, leads straight off Arpino’s main piazza past an impressive marble fountain. And here, at the entrance to Civita Falconara overlooking the large marble fountain, is Appartamento della Fontana.

This 120 property occupies the entire top floor of one wing of the huge palazzo situated behind the fountain. This wing has its own street entrance and has been divided into two apartments, this property and an apartment occupying the lower floor.

The apartment is approached up a flight of beautiful curving stone steps. Entering through the front door, a wide entrance hall leads to a living dining room at one end and a large master bedroom at the other. The living/dining room is effectively a double room, has an open fireplace in the sitting area and opens into a small kitchen from the dining room end. The kitchen has a door which gives direct access to the small private courtyard.

The very large master bedroom opens onto a dressing room, with access to both the bathroom and the same private courtyard. There is a good-sized second bedroom.

At ground level, behind the flight of stone stairs, there is a fine ‘cantina’ (cellar) for storage, where some of the original pre-Roman stonework can be seen.

Appartamento della Fontana has been fully restored by its architect owner. All utilities are connected and the property is available for immediate occupancy. It enjoys excellent street access and there is nearby public parking. It benefits from a quiet setting while being just a stone’s throw from the main piazza with its cafés, bars, shops and services.

Arpino is one of the major medieval hill towns in the Italian area known as Ciociaria, a name given to the fertile land south of Rome but north of Naples, located in the hinterland of the hills in the heart of Italy. The ancient city is 90 minutes from Rome and 90 minutes from Naples. Ciampino airport is 75 minutes away and Fiumiucino 2 hours, while the main train station is 30 minutes away. The city has two banks and many shops: grocery shops, restaurants and hotels.
